Martin studied at Oxford University and at the European University Institute in Florence. He has also studied art history, theory and photography in courses at the Tate Modern and Tate Britain, and at the University of the Arts in London.

Martin’s debut solo exhibition, "Colours", took place at The Red Gate Gallery (London) in March 2009. "Colours" was followed by "Made-up" in July 2009 and by "Carnevale" in February 2010. Both "Made-up" and "Carnevale" were shown at The Red Gate Gallery, while works from "Carnevale" were also exhibited at the AE Studios in New York in November 2009.

Martin's current project "Smoke” explores the patterns created by smoke and the images they create in the viewer’s mind. A selection was shown at The Liquid Arts Fair in March 2012 and at the Arts Council funded Saltaire Arts Trail in May 2012.

Martin will be showing further works from the Smoke series at the Art in the Ark Summer Exhibition, part of the Basingstoke Festival, in June 2012.
